Well-Nigh Unassailable

Relationships coming to an end has been a BIG theme in my circles this week, and by relationships I’m referring to an emotional connection between living souls - not exclusive to a four letter word beginning with L and ending in E. I had a friendship end as recently as a month ago. I didn’t argue, I didn’t ponder, I moved on as I’m sure they have. I’ve expressed my thought about accepting that relationships end with this person and they believe that this way of thinking could be a self fulfilling prophecy, also they hoped that they would be worth a little bit of fight. Armed with this knowledge, I did try one valiant attempt to ‘fight’ … it didn’t work.

Null.

It's probably safe to say that everyone has had at least one relationship where letting go seemed to hurtful to do. My observation; the emotional connection is very strong though one-sided, the emotional connection is very strong and two-sided but both parties know that the relationship's end is for the best, one party refuses to let go out of a need for control, one party refuses to let go as a response to fear of failure, one party refuses to let go out of a intense fear of rejection, or the relationship symbolized something to that person that it never truly was.
